Project Objective
To improve maternal and child health outcomes by providing comprehensive Antenatal Care (ANC) services to 415 underserved pregnant women from rural and semi-urban areas. The project aligns with UNICEFâs First 1000 Days of Life framework, aiming to ensure safe pregnancies, healthy childbirth, and strong early childhood development.
Key Components of the ANC Program
Early Registration
Mobilization by ASHA and ANM workers ensures early identification and registration of pregnancies from as early as 5 weeks of gestation.
Monthly ANC Check-ups
Regular antenatal check-ups are conducted by obstetricians at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Sai Sanjeevani Hospital to monitor maternal and fetal health.
Laboratory Investigations
Baseline diagnostic tests include CBC, RBS, TSH, HIV, HBsAg, VDRL, and blood grouping to detect and manage potential risks early.
Free Sonography Services
Essential ultrasound scans such as viability scan, NT scan, anomaly scan, and growth scan are provided.
Nutritional Supplementation
Provision of iron, folic acid, calcium, and Vitamin D3 supplements, continued through the postnatal period to support maternal and child health.
Immunization
Administration of tetanus toxoid vaccinations in accordance with national health guidelines.
Counseling Sessions
Regular counseling on nutrition, hygiene, and the importance of follow-ups, delivered through audiovisual tools and mother support (MS) sessions.
Transport Facility
Free transportation services are provided for beneficiaries from remote areas through the hospitalâs bus service.
Impact & Monitoring
Over 9,000 mothers have been served over the past five years, demonstrating sustained program impact.
The program is currently implemented across three Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and the Sai Sanjeevani Kharghar Centre.
Members of the Rotary Club of Dombivli Midtown will conduct periodic visits to ANC clinics to monitor progress and ensure quality delivery of services.
Comprehensive data tracking and detailed impact reports will be shared on a regular basis to maintain transparency and accountability.
Execution & Disbursement
The Rotary Club will disburse funds to the Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust for program implementation.
Sai Sanjeevani will be responsible for executing the program and will provide regular updates, including beneficiary data and progress reports.
Appropriate Rotary branding will be prominently displayed at clinics and during program-related events.
Conclusion
Together, we aim to ensure a safe and healthy journey from motherhood to early childhood.
Rotaryâs support will serve as a catalyst in nurturing a generation of healthier mothers and children.
