The objective of the project is to obtain a Global Grant Scholarship for Samantha Reeves to attend the Hertie School to pursue a Master of International Affairs (MIA) degree, concentrating in International Security. At the Hertie School, she will also work with institutions such as the Centre for International Security where she will conduct research on diplomacyÃÆ'ÃÂĒÃÂĒÃĒâ€Å¡ÃĒâšâ€ÃÂĒÃĒâ€Å¾ÃÂĒs role in different statesÃÆ'ÃÂĒÃÂĒÃĒâ€Å¡ÃĒâšâ€ÃÂĒÃĒâ€Å¾ÃÂĒ national security strategies as well as conflict prevention and peacebuilding efforts. Her studies, research, and activities during the scholarship period will align with the RotaryÃÆ'ÃÂĒÃÂĒÃĒâ€Å¡ÃĒâšâ€ÃÂĒÃĒâ€Å¾ÃÂĒs area of focus on peacebuilding and conflict prevention.
She plans to attend the Hertie School from August of 2026-August of 2028.
Funding includes $16,667 from District 5440 DDF; $5000 from the Rotary Club of Cheyenne; $13,333 from RI Global Grant and $36489 from personal funds and grants from the applicant.
The club has a small committee that has worked to take in an application for the Global Grant Scholarship and has worked to find an international sponsor and vet Samantha as an applicant.
Samantha plans to present to the club (if time permits) both before she leaves and after returning from her program.
