Project Description Region: South America Country: Brazil Location: Saltinho Total Budget: $1,006,400 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Matching Grants - Kids Library Dear fellow Rotarian, we are looking for a partner to help student kids coming from poor families of a Public School with more than 250 students. The current library contains only a few numbers of books, most part of titles repeated and inappropriate for children. The Library of the school has enough space to receive a good quantity of books and the children of our community would be provided with new material having more possibility of a better future. We are also following one of the most important goals of Rotary International, the education of children and the end of illiteracy. The entity in charge of the school is the City Hall of Saltinho. The secretary of education and the mayor reelected signed with Rotary Club of Saltinho a Term of Responsibility for all the material of the Matching Grant.
