Panchkhal and Banepa Municipal Hospitals currently lack reliable power backup, leaving critical services vulnerable during outages. Panchkhal Municipal Hospital and Banepa Municipal Hospital of Nepal currently lack a reliable power backup system, creating serious challenges for the delivery of essential healthcare services. Power interruptions affect emergency care, laboratory services, lighting, medical equipment, vaccine storage, and other critical hospital operations, resulting in delays in treatment and increased risk to patients. This project has been identified to address the urgent need for a stable and sustainable electricity supply in both hospitals.
The project will install a solar power backup system with battery storage to ensure uninterrupted electricity during outages and improve the continuity of patient care. Project funds will be used for solar panels, batteries, inverters, wiring, installation, testing, and staff training. Club members will be actively involved in project planning, coordination with hospital authorities, fundraising, monitoring implementation, and supporting the handover and follow-up process. The project is expected to be completed in phases, including assessment, procurement, installation, commissioning, and training, over a period of several months.
