The Rotary Club of Kiwatule in Eastern Uganda and Evanston Lighthouse Rotary Club in the US are working in collaboration with Project C.U.R.E. to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in 16 facilities across Uganda, from national referral hospitals to remote, rural clinics. Rotary Clubs within proximity to these facilities are responsible for the success of this campaign by ensuring that all local stakeholders are engaged for optimal impact.
We are raising funds to ship up to 16, 40-foot containers filled with donated, high-quality medical equipment and supplies from Project C.U.R.E., a leading, global nonprofit that delivers medical relief to over 135 countries since its founding in 1987.
The value of each container is estimated at $350,000-$400,000 and includes everything from hospital beds and wheelchairs to sterile gloves and delivery room essentials at no cost to the the healthcare facility. This campaign for up to 16 containers therefore represents $6,400,000 in value for beneficiary hospitals and clinics with priority items as follows:
