This money will be used to provide portable water to the Kuyizhi community that has no clean water. Also, an eight unit water cistern toilet will be provided for them. In the rainy season they have ponds from which they drink with animals. In the dry season the pond is reduced to almost nothing. The water is so bad that the city was once reported in the newspaper as a place where humans and animals drink from the same pond. They will be provided with a motorised borehole with an overhead tank and an eight unit water cistern toilet. This community has no water cistern toilet at all. The inhabitants mostly defecate in the bush with its disease spreading capabilities. Rotary Club of Asokoro will manage and maintain this project for one year within which period the community will be tutored on how best to maintain and sustain the project. Rc Asokoro has in the past done similar projects in Kobi and Kpaduma communities with the Rotary Club of Maccomb. Also RC Asokoro has a revolving Micro Credit scheme in Kuyizhi that is running it's second circle. So the community is relatively financially empowered to sustain this project.
