Project Description

Region: Central America

Country: Honduras

Location: La Moskitia

Total Budget: $83,654

Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene

Our objective is to provide clean water to several villages in La Moskitia, Gracias a Dios, Honduras, by installing water filters(1250) in 350 schoolrooms and in 900 homes that are sustainable and effective. We expect to dramatically reduce or eliminate the incidence of diarrhea and waterborne diseases and parasites. Based on eight years of experience in the area and more than 1000 homes utilizing our filters, we are confident we can achieve our main objective.

Grant is presently in progress and expected to be completed by March, 2015.

A team of Rotarians is traveling to the area in April to confirm proper competion of the
