Rotary Club Concepción Norte - Project Nº 4
Implementation of telemedicine ophthalmology units within the Health Public System in the area affected by February 27, 2010 Earthquake and Tsunami.
Concepción is the second largest city in Chile, and was the most devastated area in the country during the February 27th, 2010 earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
This project involves the acquisition of telemedical ophthalmology units (rethinographs) for the Servicio de Salud Concepción (Concepción Health Service Division). These units are meant to help perform ophthalmologic exams by a medical technician on the field, and then forwarded to a specialist medicine doctor located far away.
To acquire this gear we need to raise funds in the amount of $ 42,000 (US dollars). We are writing to your Rotary Club to ask, if possible, for a contribution of at least one third of this amount. The Concepción community will be enormously grateful.
Thanks for your attention.
