Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Jalgaon, maharashtra Total Budget: $60,750 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene View Online Proposal Form We plan to install water purifier in 145 Municipal Schools in Jalgaon. Over 30,000 students in 14 talukas (districts) from poor families are registered as pupils in these schools. Many miss school due to ill health mainly caused by water borne diseases. This grant was submitted, approved in October, 2013, for $60,707. Over 16 teams of Rotarians are assisting at the schools for this grant. The grant included teacher training that was completed in April. The teachers will educate on the importance of safe, clean water and personal hygiene. Monies were donated by three districts and 6 Rotary Clubs. Districts 3030, 5280 and 6940. From 3030, Jalgaon West. From 5280, Culver City, Hermosa Beach, Thai Town and Westchester.
