Road traffic accidents/casualties are common phenomenon due to heavy vehicular movement on national highway-24 between Hapur and Moradabad. This 120 Km stretch of the road does not have appropriate medical infrastructure to deal with accident victims/causalities. Every day many persons loss their precious lives or become handicap due to not getting timely medical aid. Rotary Club Bhartiagram, RI Distt.3100 has realized that there is community need for establishment of Trauma Centre to save the lives of accident victims. Along with the Trauma support, the centre will also run a "Polyclinic" with multi-speciality and multi-disciplinary Doctors to serve the poor segment of the society. The Club is very keen in taking up this humanitarian project with the following mentioned objectives/motto:

Motto/Objectives:

 Quick response to the emergency call/accident information.

 Immediate transport of the injured victims to trauma center.

 Immediate care and treatment by the team of doctors.

 Referral of cases if needed to multi-speciality hospital.

 Rehabilitation/safe discharge of the cases to their home after treatment.

The location of Trauma Centre will be on NH-24 at Gajraula Location. The club; RC Bhartiagram is also located in the Gajraula town which is 100 KM away from Delhi on NH-24.

Cost of the Project:

The total cost of the project will be US $ 400,000

 Cost of Land = US $ 66,000

 Cost of construction = US $ 112,000

 Cost of Equipments & fixtures = US $ 222,000

Progress on the Project so far:

 A land of 3200 sq. mtr. had already been purchased by the club at prominent location on NH-24.

 For smooth operation and management of the Trauma Center, a Welfare Trust has been constituted having 5 trustees representing the local township as well as industries. The current Club President & one senior active member of the club continue as the Rolling Trustees.

The key responsibilities of the trustees are:

 Hospital Administration and Operational Management.

 Regular monitoring & supervision of its services.

 Arrange funds to meet the operational cost and recurring expenses.

 Sustainability of the project and its services.

 Suggest for improvement & up gradation.

 Feedback & Follow-Up with Partner Clubs & Rotary International.

The major Industries in Gajraula have agreed to share the operating expenses for a period of 3 years to provide initial support to the Trauma Center before it becomes self-sustainable.

Significant Achievements of RC Bhartiagram:

 Rotary Club, Bhartiagram was established in the year 1986-87. The club initially started with 25 members belonging to different industries and Local Township. Gradually, more and more people joined this service club. Today the club has largest membership base of 116 members in R.I. Distt. 3100.

 Rotary club, Bhartiagram had always been a major focal initiator, coordinator and contributor to help the people in the aftermath of National calamities like earthquake in various parts of India.

 The Rotarians of the club are proudly associated with various community welfare initiatives and services since the inception of the club.

 The club had successfully completed one of the Rotary project as a "Mobile Trauma Ambulance". This is handed over to society and now running successfully.

 The club has recently completed a project named "PRAKSH" and distributed 721 SOLAR LED LAMPS to poor students belonging to 7 villages having no access to Electricity under a Rotary Flag. This project was matched by three clubs of USA (R.I. DISTT - 5390, Polson Rotary Club, R.C. Missonla Sunrise & R.C. Evergreen).
