Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Dharwad Total Budget: $30,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Grant budget will be used to Errect 100 vermicompost units and supply of liquid manure preparing small units.Rest of the funds will be utilised to purchase green manuring seeds and cuttings,biofertilisers,biopesticides,seeds of vegetables,seedlings of fruit crops and cuttings of fodder crops. This project will be implemented in Marewad village of Dharwad Taluka where in 100 small needy farmers will be trainined in persuing organic agriculture and all round development of their farm will be undertaken. This project has got impact on environment,human health and economy of the farmers.Farmers will become self sustainable through reduced cost of production and increased value of his products.Other farmers will follow the same and only technical guidence will be given to them alsoso that entire village turns into organic villge and it becomes model for other villages.Apart from this organic people comes out of alcoholism,tobacco and other bad habits and starts working in their fields which brings total social change.
