Rotary Club of Poona West wish to undertake a Global Grant Project - Phase II of helping the Ramakrishna Math by donating High end Color Doppler System Fully Digital with three probes viz. (1) Abdominal Probe, (2) Doppler Probe and (3) Cardiac probe with a Thermal Printer and one hour back up UPS System with Surge Suppressor. Presently they have a 7 year old color Doppler machine requires frequent maintenance which would be replaced by the new machine which will help the needy patients. They had communicated this need vide their letter dated 27th
February 2013. Below table gives information of the patients diagnosed in the period April 2012 to December 2012.

The Ramakrishna Math, Pune is a branch centre of worldwide spiritual organization Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, established by Swami Vivekananda having its Headquarters at Belur Math, Howrah, West Bengal, India.
Ramakrishna Math & Mission is engaged in various spiritual, philanthropic and social activities under the principle of "Serve God in Man". Ramakrishna Math & Mission conducts these philanthropic activities for needy and underprivileged class irrespective of caste, creed, and religion. Through its 120 centers spread all over India, Ramakrishna Mission, runs schools, hostels, university, hospitals, dispensaries, nursing schools, tribal welfare activities, rural development activities etc.
Ramakrishna Math, Pune along with many other charitable activities is running a dispensary for the needy and slum-dwelling people from low income group. Said Polyclinic envelops various departments viz. Eye, ENT, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Pathology, X-ray, USG, Dental, Homeopathy, etc. Needless to mention, that patients are served at charitable rates. Team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff helps us to serve patients.
In 2010-11 total 98,280 patients were treated. In the said financial year 1130 cases were treated totally free of cost and we have spent lacs of rupees for the free treatment of needy patients which includes distribution of medicine free of cost.
Apart from Polyclinic, Ramakrishna Math, Pune is running a Vivekananda Balak Sangh (a training school for character building) for slum dwelling boys. In this Balak Sangh along with academic studies students are guided emphatically to inculcate human values. A public library having 10703 books on spirituality and religion along with a free reading room for public is managed by us. A computer institute is run by us at charitable rates
for the needy students from underprivileged class of Pune city. Through this institute nearly 314 needy students were benefited. Under rural development activities we are
running a free computer training institute in the village Kahrawade (Tal Mulshi Dist. Pune) where 24 rural students (both boys and girls) were benefited last year. A mobile charitable dispensary which is covering three small villages of taluka Mulshi has served 3913 Rural Patients.
Ramakrishna Math, Pune always try to provide best possible services to patients; and also for better services up gradation of existing instrument and purchase of new instruments time to time is necessary.
We, Rotary Club of Poona West, therefore identified the immediate needs of Ramakrishna Math, Pune to upgrade the existing facilities of the Polyclinic and appeal to you for participation in this noble cause.
