Project Description

Region: Asia

Country: India

Location: Sirsi

Total Budget: $80,000

Area of Focus: Maternal and child health

Rotary Club of Sirsi intends to establish a NICU unit in the local Government Hospital. On an aggregate 250 to 300 young ones are born in Sirsi in this hospital and almost 10 % require NICU care for prematurity or Asphyxia jaundice. The expenses are pretty high in private nursing homes and hence the mortality rate amongst such new born is very high. In order to assist the community we intend to establish a full NICU unit in the local hospital. All the latest gadgets shall be installed and it would be assisting more than 400 babies per year.

We shall share the technical details upon request.
