Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Ludhiana Total Budget: $45,000 Areas of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention, Disease prevention and treatment, Community economic development With the growing menace of AIDS through Blood transfusion,there is a greater need of a Trustful test of Elisa among Blood Banks.In Ludhiana with a population of 4million,there are 4 Blood Banks.two of them are privately owned by big Hospitals who charge heavily for the Blood replacement to the patients.One is a Government owned and its condition is Pathetic.The fourth one in a Charitable Hospital supported by Rotary is working on a Charitable basis with free blood facility to the needy patients.It has a manual system of conducting Elisa test where chances of Human error are involved.We will purchase an automatic Elisa analyser with the grant funds so that there is a minimal risk amongst the poor patients (around 3 million poor community who cannot go to the Bigger hospitals for their treatment)against the transfusion of the HIV infected blood.The club members are already looking after the affairs of the Charitable hospital.
