Background: Koshipari is one of the most remote and least develop region of Kavre district of Nepal. Geographically, this region is very much complex and less accessible to outsider. Hardly few vehicles run in winter season. Around 90% people are engaged in agriculture and it is the main source of income for people living in this region. The literacy rate of this region is less compare to other region of the district and one of the least in Nepal. The dropout rate is high among the girl and hardly few students passes the school leaving certificate. The condition of educational institution is not satisfactory except school building built by government in some places. Still educational institutions lack infrastructure like desk & benches, library facilities, computer lab, toilet which is one of the reason of girl's student dropout. Majority of the students still reference away from using computer which is very much needed in modern era. Although educational institution is working hard to give best result but because of limited resources expected result has not been achieved. Because of its geographical complexity only few organizations have been working in this region. Still, people of this region are waiting for support for the development of the region. Assimilating these facts Rotary Club of Dhulikhel has done community assessment on 6th October 2014. And club has decided to promote the literacy rate in this region through strengthen the educational institution of this region. Rotary-South Asia has planned to achieve 100 % in South-Asia Region by 2017.

Project Venue: Rotary Club of Dhulikhel has selected the three schools which are providing quality education and need for further development for promoting literacy in Koshipari region. They are Shree Arunodaya Secondary School, Shree Saraswoti Secondary School and Shree Buddha Himalaya Higher Secondary School. Altogether around 850 students study in these schools.

Project Description: Rotary Club of Dhulikhel will work directly with school management committee in the presence of local people for its sustainability & accountability. Club assures the contribution from school management committee & local people in any form for ownership and sustainability. Project will provide desks & benches, library furniture, books, computers, computer table & chair, school toilet which will benefit both students & teacher and help in increment of quality in education and reduce the student dropout. Following are the necessity for the three schools.

Shree Arunodaya Secondary School

1. Desks & Benches: 20 Sets

2. Library furniture with Book

3. Computer with chair & table: 10 Sets

4. Upgrade School Toilet

Shree Saraswoti Secondary School

1. Desks & Benches: 20 Sets

2. Library furniture with Book

3. Computer with chair & table: 6 sets

Shree Buddha Himalayan Higher Secondary School

1. Desks & Benches: 20 Sets

2. Computer with chair & table: 10 sets

3. Upgrade School Toilet

4. Water Tank 1000 liters:1

Project Budget: School will address the cost of wiring and labor cost for toilet upgrade.The total cost for this project is USD.34,375

Project Sustainability: Rotary Club of Dhulikhel will form three members project committee who will take responsibility in forwarding project in three schools and maintain communication with them along with International Rotary Clubs & Rotary Foundation. School Management Committee and Rotary project committee will work together during the project. Once project will be handed over School Management Committee will take responsibility for the sustainability . Rotary Club of Dhulikhel will monitor time to time to know the status of post project and will provide advice & suggestion if necessary.
