Primary and Secondary Schools in villages in and around Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India do not have proper seating facilities for Children which makes education delivery less conducive. There is no budget for Desk Repair on Desk procurement in many free schools as no fee is charged and schools are surviving on meager grants from the government.
This also negatively impacts the hygiene and sanitation of the schools, thus discouraging parents to educate their children.
This project will help give the students a proper school like environment. Not only will it help raise their self esteem, but also it will make the teaching learning process more conducive. It will also be good for their health as sitting on floors during extreme weather is detrimental.
This project will encourage rural education in a big way as Parents will have an option for a more hygienic and better learning environment within their vicinity.
Total 1500 two-seater desk benches are proposed at USD 50 per desk bench, amounting the total budget to USD 75000
The project will be completed within eight months from the date of commencement.
Members from twelve clubs belonging to different physical locations will identify different schools where the existing facilities are not up to mark and desk benches are required. The desk benches will eventually be then distributed accordingly and the identified needs. The same members will be responsible for maintenance of the desk benches and also assuring that the benches are not being used by the right beneficiaries.
