The geographical area of our District 3240 is spread over in 9 states of
North-Eastern part of India, having 72 clubs. The clubs are situated in the
revenue district and sub-divisional cities/towns covering urban as well as
rural areas.
Project on water & sanitation is essentially needed in our RI District and
will greatly build image of Rotary once completed. Aiming to that we intend
to take up a District Global Grant project with provision of 10 nos of
"Public Hygienic Toilet with drinking water facility". Total cost of the
project is *INR 50, 00,000/- or USD 83,333/-*. The cost is worked out for a
standard construction of 10 units at various places of our district
considering standard price index.
The land for the project will be provided by Local civic body or arranged by the local Rotary Club.
The project on completion will be handed over to the civic bodies at
different locations and local Rotary clubs will monitor its functioning as pay
toilet for community ensuring its maintenance.
We have experience of having such projects by few clubs in our district and
observed that it is not only beneficial to a large numbers of public but
build public image of Rotary to a great extent
