Name of the Project: 10 NOS. PUBLIC HYGIENIC PAY TOILETS WITH DRINKING WATER FACILITY.
Estimated cost of Project: INR 54, 00,000 = USD 87,100
Location of project: 10 locations in 10 township within the geographical area of the RI District 3240 covering 9 states of North-East India.
Project Contact Rotarian: Rotary Club of Silchar with coordinators from 10 Rotary Clubs at 10 locations.
Project Implementation
Period: Within 30-06-2015 from the date of commencement in 2013.
Maintenance after completion: Pay toilet will be run by the local civic body/Sulab souchalay/ local Rotary Club.
Land for the Toilet: Local Rotary Club will arrange land free of cost.
The Rotary International District 3240 propose to take up 10 unit of Public
Hygienic Pay Toilets with Drinking Water Facility as District Global Grant project under FVP
at a cost of INR 54,00,000.00 (Rupees Fifty five lakh) =USD 87,100 only.
The quality hygienic Toilets are designed as a brand toilet of same standard to be constructed
at different township of RI District 3240 covering 9 states of India including remote areas. The
toilets will provide separate enclosures for both ladies and gents with a separate drinking
water facility and a space for round the clock watch keeper/caretaker.
The Toilets after construction completed at a location arranged by the local Rotary Clubs in
collaboration with civic bodies will be handed over to run as pay toilet. The maintenance of
the toilets will be the responsibility of the Rotary Clubs in participation of the local body.
Similar few toilets of this kind are found to be of extensive useful to the community and
appreciated by all quarters.
The toilets with advanced designing are expected to help greatly in image building of Rotary
in this developing part of India. Our clubs in the District are taking initiative to generate TRF
contributions (as per Goal set by the District) to get a unit of Toilet in their locality. It is also
understood that the civic bodies of different township are agreed to support the project
with a the required plot of land at the most needy area free of cost.
