Need identified:

Long waiting time for marking the appointments for blood collection in the Health Units of Guara, with an average of 30 days, and the existence of the collection unit in areas with high demand.

The project will be crucial for the prevention and treatment of diseases, allowing less time between the request of examinations and blood samples, and consequently a faster availability of results in medical records, and thus the health team and the patient will have greater benefit in clarifying diagnosis by the practice of modern medicine, efficient and safe.

Objectives of the Project:

The major objectives of the project are: 1) To provide bigger capacity with support services diagnosis;2) To reduce the waiting time for performing blood collections;3) To increase the amount of tests collected per day; 4)To enlarge the population's access to blood and other tests; 5) To reduce the response time of the results of tests available in the medical records; 6) To perform glucose curve in the basic units; 7) To avoid losses of microbiological and occurrence of glycolysis in the samples; 8) To transport samples of biological material to the Regional Laboratory in vehicle in a proper temperature; 9) To rearrange flow of actions for the rooms and routines; 10) To humanize health care using POPS (Standard Operating Procedures) for safe blood collection, and standardization of procedures.

Cost of the Project:

Project funded through the Global Grant Program of the Rotary Foundation in the amount of US $ 33,424,20 (Thirty three thousands four hundred twenty four dollars and twenty cents)

Plan of the Public Image:

The project envisages a Plan of the Public Image of Rotary with wide dissemination of news/information by the media to various groups of stakeholders (please, view Plan in the descriptive part of the project).
