ChitalHigh School building was built 50 years ago. Enrolment is 600 Gr. 8 - 12 students. It is serving a population of 13,000. The parents of most of students are mostly poor. The middle and upper misddle class paents send their children to schools in Amreli where the standard of education is much higher. The High School in Chital is managed by a Trust whose financial position is precarious and hence the building and facilities are in a poor state of repairs because the State Govenment finances only the teachers' wages. This Global Grant is designed to enhance the learning condion of the school to enable the students attending the school to have an opportunity to acquire an education comparable to other schools in the State of Gujarat. The following components will achieve thse objectives:
1. Provide a program of teachereducation,
2. Provide sufficient text books to ensure that all students have a copy of the text book for all courses.
3. Provide sufficient student desks so that every student has a suitable seating space,
4. Provide 4 LCD projectors and 51 computers (50 for students and 1 for the teacher)
5. Increase the number of volums in the library including the electroni aids.
6. Provide two blocks of toilets. one for girls and another for boys; each block to contain five privacy urinals and two toilets.
7. Repair the broken plaster and paint the interior of the school.
8. Provide oure drinking water using the R. O. System.
