Project Description Region: Central America Country: Belize Location: Cayo District Total Budget: $95,000 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene Construct sanitation facilities for three schools in western Belize: Los Tambos Elementary School, Spanish Lookout; Howard Smith Nazarene Primary School, Benque; St. Ignatius High School, Santa Elena, to UNESCO standards including boys and girls toilets, wash basins, septic tank and drain fields. St. Ignatius HS will also include boys and girls showers and handicapped accessible toilets and wash basins. Rotary Club of Fairbanks will send a team to the site in 2014 to confirm the project plan so a formal application to TRF can be completed. A local contractor will be retained to construct the facilities and Rotarians in Belize and from D5010 will be involved in facilitating the project.
