Vehelepada village of Thane district in the state of Maharashtra is in need of water conservation and tapping of natural resources. Ground water table needs enhancement. Villagers are basically farmer and currently depend on rain water only for agriculture produce and other daily requirements.

RC Thane MidTown intends to build 4 check dams on stream in the areas surrounding the village to arrest rain water runoffs, thereby aiding storage and building up ground water table.

$32500 @ Rs.2000000 (current conversion rate at $1=Rs.62/-)is required to construct 4 Check dams.

RC Thane MidTown, Club id:26976, Dist.3140, intends to execute this flag ship project as Rotary Focus area.
