In Ludhiana, there are a couple of Charitable hospitals which are serving the needs of the lower strata of the society. These hospitals sustain on the donations from the Community for their operational expenses. One major expense is Electricity and diesel for Gensets(when there is power shut down which is quite rampant in Ludhiana). The average monthly Bill of such expenses at Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital is US$5,000 per month which is huge keeping in view of the Charitable Services it provides. For this they have to depend upon the Donations which can otherwise be used for providing free treatment to the needy as hospital is maintaining a Poor Patients Fund which provides free medicines and free treatment to the utmost needy persons.
Furthermore, lot of Energy is burnt which causes pollution in and around the hospital. With the Grant Funds we plan to set up an Integrated Solar System which will provide solar energy which will be converted into electric Energy sufficient to run the various facilities at the hospital. The funds used from donations to pay energy bills of approximately US$5,000 per month will be used to provide free medicines and treatment to the people who need the most. In addition, the pollution levels will decrease considerably which will provide the Green ECO EFFECT. The club members will be involved right from the project planning stage to the Project execution stage which is a great responsibility.
