Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Water, sanitation and hygiene, Basic education and literacy, Community economic development
The sustainability development program at Linkopings Universitet focuses not only on the scientific environmental aspect but also on how sustainability is affected by politics, local, and global perspectives. Understanding governmental policy and its consequences on sustainability practices is vital for an educated community in order for local water and energy sources to be improved, and the negative environmental impact to be reduced. This directly addresses three of the Rotary program's areas of focus: clean water, disease prevention, and improving the local economy.
This program provides education on different sustainable systems and technologies that can be implemented in both rural and urban communities to improve the overall quality of living. Making a community sustainable decreases its dependence on external sources. This program will teach me how to implement sustainability in regards to lower income communities, giving them the opportunity to live independently and fruitfully.

DDF contributions in grey are pending approval of the corresponding district committee.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
