Project Description Region: Africa Country: Uganda Location: Kitgum Total Budget: $35,400 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health Kitgum district has 12 health centre III with structures constructed by development agencies to give health services at the sub county level. Within the sub county, there is also health centre II (at parish level) that is to give primary health care to the community. Much as there are available infrastructures in the health centre III as it should be, many of such health centres has wards but with very limited or no hospital beds at all. This project shall fill in the already existing gaps in the community health units by providing hospital beds for health centre III and some health centre II in the RY 2011/2012. Approximately, if funded over 5000 community members will benefit from the project.
