We are a new club, chartered on January 10, 2014, club number 85520, District 2452. We have a strong membership, organisation and ambitions. We want to start our first community service project: "School Clean Water Project".
Many public schools across Jordan suffer from the lack of clean drinking water facilities and the children/students therefore suffer from lack of access to clean drinking water while at the school. This is a health hazard that needs immediate attention. Our project will install new water reservoirs, new piping, new faucets, cleaning and painting and protection of the water area. Each school will cost US $1,950.00 to fix. We target to accomplish 50 schools each year so that to complete 250 schools over 5 years. The other 9 Rotary clubs in Amman, Jordan are also joining in a country effort to fix designated schools in order to jointly accomplish all schools that suffer from this problem. This will be the first JOINT ROTARY COUNTRY PROJECT.
We are looking for an international partner to join us in this Global Grant project. The total cost of this crucial GG project is 50*$1,950.00= $97,500.00. Our Club has allocated $7,000 for this project.
