Our signature project, 'Save Silent World' is designed to prevent child deafness in Mongolia. According to WHO, 1-3 child is born with deafness or partly deaf in every 1000 birth. Child has chance to obtain hearing and speaking ability if diagnosed before he/she turns 24 months. Therefore, number of countries around the world conducts mandatory check-up in all new born babies.
Unfortunately, Mongolia has only two hearing check-up equipments and only one of them is working properly at this time. The purposes of 'Save Silent World' project are to equip all maternal hospitals with hearing check-up equipment, provide adequate training for doctors and nurses, and to make hearing check-up mandatory nationwide. By successfully implementing this project, we can prevent 74-222 babies each year from lifelong deafness and social isolation.
