Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Kohlapur Total Budget: $46,000 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment The purpose of this project is to acquire an Ophthalmic Van for Rotary Sunrise Social Centre which is managed and run by Rotary Club of Kolhapur Sunrise, India. The Rotary Club of Kolhapur Sunrise with its Doctor Members provides medical diagnostic services and conducts Health Checkup camps on a regular basis in the rural areas of Kolhapur, India. The Club sees a big need to include vision related checkups in these rural areas. The Club needs an Ophthalmic Van equipped with Ophthalmic Equipment (Autorefractometer, Ophthalmoscope, Slit lamp, Retinoscopes etc) as per the requirements of The Ophthalmic Surgeon of India. With this Van, the Club Doctors can incorporate vision checkups on a regular basis for the rural needy. It is anticipated that over 6,000 rural needy per year will benefit from this equipment.
