All the patients in the hospital admitted for surgeries or trauma treatment usually require blood to varying extent. The hospital provides treatment and services free of cost. While the most patients will be charged to recover the processing costs and a little more, patients below poverty line will be cross-subsidized to offer blood components free of cost. The blood Bank will benefit the entire population of over 3 million and the direct beneficiaries will be thousands of patients that avail of the services of the District Hospital - Hospicio Hospital
