In India we have two extremes in all aspects of our life - wealth or education or health and like that. There are schools in Metropolitan cities which are well equipped regarding the availability of infrastructure facilities. At the same time we have other extreme end where there is a teacher and students and nothing else. The students sit under a tree for lack of class rooms or if they have a class room they sit on floor to read and write. This Project aims at providing Class Room Steel Benches and Desks for students studying at poor schools selected by 16 Clubs of District 3212, South Tamilnad state, India. Still in most of the rural Junior and High Schools the students sit on the floor to read and write. Providing Benches to such schools will certainly improve the comfort and concentration of the students in their studies. The respective schools which receive the benches will be benefited by attracting more number of students there by improving the overall literacy in the community. Directly 8000 students will be benefited year after year. This project can be completed in six months from the date of sanction. The club member will actively participate in the project from selection of Manufacturer, Inspecting the factory which manufacture the steel desks and benches frequently and delivering the benches to the respective schools.

Dropped
This project has been "Dropped". Check the history log entries to see why it was dropped.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
