Country: Kenya

Location: Nairobi

Total Budget: $53,850

Area of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention

This Vocational Training Team (VTT), A Pathway To Peace will involve a VTT Team working both in Nairobi, Kenya (Children's Peace Initiative) and San Diego, California (Interactions for Peace). All the Nairobi participants will have been trained in the I4Peace Foundation Skills for Positive Social Interactions. This training will empower those to build, maintain, and sustain Peace Patrols in Kenya. CPI Kenya will increase their skills and learn from various peace educators in the Greater San Diego area through school visitations and special lectures. They will observe Peace Patrol programs and I4Peace Model schools so upon return to Kenya they can assist the teachers and schools to implement improved peaceful conflict resolution systems. interactions for Peace has been successfully educating and creating lifelong peaceful problem solvers with developmentally appropriate programs since 1989. I4Peace offers a prevention-focused system that leads to the empowerment of students, their families, friends, schools, and communities.
