What are the main objectives of the project, and who will benefit from it? This is a project for a large hospital that covers over 100 villages in Lebanon. Its the only hospital prepared to receive Covid19 patients in the Chouf and Mount Lebanon area. Because of the virus the hospital found itself in need of an industrial washer and dryer and 2 hospital beds. 1000 Covid 19isolation gowns and 200 Covid 19 coverall suits. Covid 19 Masks N95, Goggles 3M, surgical masks. The hospital is already testing and receiving Covid 19 patients. It opened a new departement for these patients, they are receiving patients now and expect to see about 50 patients in the next 3 months and want to make sure they have what they need to save lives. Why did you choose to partner with this organization and what will its role be? Ain Wazein Hospital in Chouf, Lebanon is the largest hospital that covers about 100 villages in that area, it is the only hospital in that region of about 600,000 persons that is prepared to receive Covid 19 patients. It hospitalizes about 45,000 patients per year. Ain Wazein Hospital is receiving Covid 19 patients, all medical services are performed from testing to hospitalization to surgery if necessary. The hospital has opened a new quarter just for Covid 19 patients and is expecting a flow of patients in the next couple of months. Humanitarian Projects - Project Planning Describe the community needs that your project will address. Ain Wazein Hospital cover an area of over 100 towns and receives 45,000 patients per year. The population covered by this hospital is more then 700,000 of mainly poor and below poverty patients. This project will help the hospital add a washer and dryer, two hospital beds and Covid 19 supplies. The hospital has created a separate quarters for Covid 19 patients. These supplies will help the hospital within the regulated medical rules for Covid 19 and prevent contagiousness among doctors workers and patients while saving lives. How did your project team identify these needs. Because of Covid 19 cases starting to show in the area of Chouf and Mount Lebanon we were contacted by the hospital. Ain Wazein Hospital is the only hospital in the region of Chouf and mount Lebanon that is testing for Covid 19 and this is where patients will go first in need of help. We visited the hospital and found that they are in desperate need of another industrial washer and dryer and need 2 more beds in the Covid 19 area. The hospital doctors told us that they lack Medical outfits and masks needed to wear to see and help patients. . How were members of the benefiting community involved in finding solutions. Members of the community are at home worried and scared of catching Covid19 and by knowing that they have a hospital that is equipped and ready to help, they will feel at peace. How were community members involved in planning the project. Due to Covid 19 The community members were not allowed to leave there home nevertheless they expressed the need and concern to have this hospital equipped to receive over 50 patients. Explain the process you used to select vendors. Yes these items will be purchased from a local vendor. Many vendors ere contacted and the Club went with the best prices they could find according to the specifics of the hospital. Did you use competitive bidding to select vendors? If no, please explain. Yes competitive bids were selected and the best prices were chosen. Please provide an operating and maintenance plan for the equipment or materials you purchased for this project. This plan should include who will operate and maintain the equipment and how they will be trained. The equipment will be maintained by the hospital as they do have specialists that work for them at the hospital.
