Humanitarian Projects - Project Planning

Describe the community needs that your project will address.

Ain Wazein Hospital cover an area of over 100 towns and receives 45,000 patients per year. The population covered by this hospital is more then 700,000 of mainly poor and below poverty patients.

This project will help the hospital add a washer and dryer, two hospital beds and Covid 19 supplies. The hospital has created a separate quarters for Covid 19 patients. These supplies will help the hospital within the regulated medical rules for Covid 19 and prevent contagiousness among doctors workers and patients while saving lives.

How did your project team identify these needs.

Because of Covid 19 cases starting to show in the area of Chouf and Mount Lebanon we were contacted by the hospital. Ain Wazein Hospital is the only hospital in the region of Chouf and mount Lebanon that is testing for Covid 19 and this is where patients will go first in need of help. We visited the hospital and found that they are in desperate need of another industrial washer and dryer and need 2 more beds in the Covid 19 area. The hospital doctors told us that they lack Medical outfits and masks needed to wear to see and help patients. .

How were members of the benefiting community involved in finding solutions.

Members of the community are at home worried and scared of catching Covid19 and by knowing that they have a hospital that is equipped and ready to help, they will feel at peace.

How were community members involved in planning the project.

Due to Covid 19 The community members were not allowed to leave there home nevertheless they expressed the need and concern to have this hospital equipped to receive over 50 patients.
