Where and when will your project take place?

September 21, 2023: First Community Assessment at the Center, interviewing the Director and her staff. Understanding their needs, requirements and (long term) goals.

October 21m 2023: Second Community Assessment in the greater San Jose/Cartago area at the "Family Day" event where we will be able to visit with community leadership, families of childfren with Autism, observe the children and understand the challenges the immediate and extended families have as well as meet with local school faculty to better understand their challenges and short term/long term needs.

2nd Quarter 2024: Two separate groups of Rotarians to visit the Center to do service projects at the center. More of this will be defined after the community assessments are completed.

Why did you choose to partner with this organization and what will its role be?

The host Rotary club has been informally supporting this organization since their (2021) inception. Karen McDaniels from the Sponsoring Club visited with the host club President Alberto Ayon in May 2023. Soon after, the Director of the Center sent Don Alberto a formal letter requestion support from Rotary International through a global grant. The letter outlined their history, current needs and future considerations.
