Tell us a little about your project. What are the main objectives of the project, and who will benefit from it?

This project will fund 5 solar powered water wells which will not only provide safe drinking water for villagers, but also water for a drip irrigation system, enabling the village to produce crops for food and additional income. The project will also include agricultural training for a member of the village to insure that proper agricultural practices are followed.

Why did you choose to partner with this organization and what will its role be?

Intuba has over 10 years experience in establishing water wells and drip irrigation systems in the area, so they have a proven process for success. They have a local office in Bulawayo, and also a USA based 501(c)3 organization. Intuba will manage and oversee the project.

Members of the Rotary Club of Bulawayo will assist in completion of the required reports and make periodic visits to the project sites to verify the progress of the project

HEB Rotarian Gary Short will maintain contact with the staff of Intuba as well as the Host Rotary Club to obtain progress reports. In April 2024, Rotarian Short visited the Bulawayo office of Intuba and traveled with staff to a village that received a water well and is growing their first crop using the raised beds and drip irrigation.
