This initiative seeks to redress the critical sanitary deficit prevalent in four designated tribal schools, located within the remote vicinities of Maharashtra. The project will undertake the provision of new sanitary blocks and the renovation of existing facilities, thereby providing segregated and functional sanitation for more than 2,500 students and pedagogical staff.

Humanitarian Projects - Project Planning

Describe the community needs that your project will address.

It will address the issues of absenteeism and drop-out of students especially among the girls, at Higher Secondary Schools owning to the lack of sanitation facilities in the rural areas.

How did your project team identify these needs.

The Rotary Club of Thane Hiranandani Legends had previously organized Mega Programme ‘PROJECT NAVRANG’ for 1250 tribal children appearing for 10th Standard Exams living in various villages of Shahapur in December 2024. While interacting with the school teachers, Principals and students during the Project, the Club identified the sanitation and hygiene issues and decided to take up the issue.

As informed above, while interacting with the school teachers, Principals and students during the Project, the Club identified the sanitation and hygiene issues and decided to take up the issue. The solutions have been planned by the Club post discussions with NGO Fandry Foundation and beneficiaries.
