The benefit community is in Lwankoni village of Lwankoni Sub-county in Kyotera county of Rakai District.

Need for safe water and sanitation

Need for prevention of disease especially Malaria

Need to improve on economic development techniques

Need to improve on chidren's education especially the orphans

3. How are these needs currently being addressed with local resources and/or government agencies, NGOs, etc.? If the activity is a scholarship, enter "N/A".

The government and some NGOs are trying to do something countrywide but reaching to all to prove such services to far rural areas like Lwankoni is not easy especially in the areas of health, hunger, education and water and sanitation.

Section C: Activity Description

Clean water and sanitation by providing 20 water tanks and constructing 15 pitlatrines.

Health: A total of 500 mosquito nets will be profied in prevetion of Malaria.

Economic Development: Practicising organic agriculture by providing 5,000 coffee stems, 500 hoes, 500 pangs and 200 trips of manure.

Education: A total of 500 needy students will be provided with scholastic materials, lunch fees, school uniforms and school shoes.

Since the ownership of the project will be entrusted to the community, they will take on the task of maintaining all items regarding this grant under the supervision of Mukama Ggwe Byonna RCCS and members of Rotary Club of Kalisizo

The benefiting community will get trainings on how the project will run.

Community members were live a better life is 20 water tanks and 15 pit latrines are constructed.

If 500 mosquito nets are provided to the needy families, malaria disease will be prevented.

If farmers re provided with 5,000 stems of coffee stems, 500 hows, 500 pangas and 200 trips of manure, their economic and community development will improve thus reduce of hunger as they will get what to eat from the produce.

If 500 mostly needy children are provided with scholastic materials, school uniforms, lunch fees and schools fees, good results will be expected from their education.

The community members will be empowered with basic health care, safe water, malaria disease will be prevented through the provision of mosquito nets and economic and community development will be improved through income generating activities through farming.

The Local council leaders will be involved in the project on its initial.

The community will be trained on how the project will run and be encouraged to participate.

The rotarians will participate and offer their assistance to the project, monitor and evaluate the project at stipulated intervals.

Mukama Ggwe Byonna RCCS in the area will play a major role in the on-going training and maintanance of the facilities
