 Ours is a Rural Club,operating in the outskirts of the city of Kochi,in the southernmost State of India.
This project aims at improvingthe quality of life of the women in the 7 identified villages around Kochi city which are socially and economically backward.
These educated women will be encouraged to form Self Help Groups through necessary training and counselling.They will be guided to take up micro-entrepreneural activities through their SHGs and in order to meet their finacial requirements we propose to liberate them from the exploitation of money lenders through micro credit facilities through a Revolving Fund.
This Project will facilitate to fruitfully utilise the time and energy of these women effectively and will also generate income to provide support to their families,leading to a socio-economic change.
Each SHG(consisting of 10 members) will be supported to a maximum of $175 through micro credit and we propose to cover about 80 groups at any point of time.Together withthe other incidental expenses the total cost will be to the tune of $15000,,which will be the Revolving Fund.
Implementation will be through experienced Charitable organisations who have the requisite infrastructureand expertise with the guidance and involvement ofRotary Club of Kalamassery |
