 Cairo is considered one of the world most populous cities; one of its major problems is traffic. Cairo's population in the morning hits 20 to 22 million persons. Therefore, the best transportation solution is using Cairo's Metro Network.
Cairo's Metro Network today operates 2 lines, and a 3rd line is under construction.
Regarding the daily massive numbers of Metro user in some stations, RC of Sakkara has offered The Metro operating body a proposal to equip and furnish emergency units (rooms) in different stations in order to serve the Metro injured, fainted passengers or other emergency simple cases that require direct and quick interference for saving their lives. In case the physical structure of the room isn’t available, RC of Sakkara constructs the aluminum-based room.
A protocol of cooperation was prepared and signed since 2005-2006 among the Metro Operation body, Emergency Care – Ministry of Health and population, and RC of Sakkara.
We have established 6 units, and we need to provide 8 more emergency units.
Each emergency unit costs approx. USD 3000, according to its size and location.
