We have just this week finished paying labor and taking pictures of the finished floors - 35 so far. There is still about 93,000 Ks or $1500 US in the grant account.
We have worked in 15 schools. We have done fewer schools for two reasons, one is that each school is in such bad shape that we hated to do only one floor per school. We can do about two schools with two floors each with the remaining money.

<10-Dec-10> by Kim Muslusky
A total of 38 classroom floors have been cemented in the Maseno school district. The amount of the grant
in Kenya Shillings is 1,016,000 Kenya Shillings. The 38 classrooms cost
Kenya Shillings 996,960. Bank charges were Kenya Shillings 427. The sign
painting, at Kenya Shillings 300 per classroom for 38 (one double classroom
will have only one sign, Emutsa will have the other one) will cost Ks
11,400. The balance, Ks 7,213 will buy eight bags of cement for Emutsa
Primary School. The Head Teacher has agreed to procure the necessary sand and ballast to do one floor using the donated cement. This all should be concluded next week.
