Food Delivery Vans for Schools

$50,000

This project will provide 5 food delivery vans ($10,000 each) to the ISKCON Food Relief Foundation. These vans will be used to provide the lunch food to 25,000 school children all over Ludhiana.

Having a free meal at the school is a great motivation for poor children to attend school, and this has been proven to increase attendance in school by 21% in other parts of India. The government of the state of Punjab has asked the ISKCON Food Relief Foundation to implement a food program in Ludhiana. They are already managing such programs in other parts of India to (1.5 million children).

The facility in Ludhiana is operated on land donated by the state government, but is in need of equipment to implement this local program.

The food delivery vans will have big signs to indicate they were donated by Rotary International and the sponsoring clubs.

See detailed document on the left for additional information, including sample photos of the van.
