 This project will provide books, school supplies, payment of tuition and other school charges, school uniforms and transportation and meal allowance for fifty (50) economically challenged but intellectually gifted high school students of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Laboratory High School(PUPLHS). These students are children of families living under the poverty line, with an average family income of below US$200 per month, average family members of 5 and mostly living in Metro Manila Areas where poverty is very apparent. This project will enable the students to finish their secondary education and will therefore have a better chance to get out from poverty. Polytechnic University of the Philippines is a state university that provide education principally to children of poor families and gives guality education. Number of total enrolees per school year is limited to 600 students. Only applicants for freshmen are accepted as new students. Please visit its website at www.pup.edu.ph. This is a continuing project of the Rotary Club of Pasay West. This request for financing is for School Year June 2010 to March 30, 2011. |

For its Scholarship Project for School Year June 2009-March 2010, RC Pasay West was supported by the DDF of District 3810 and District 3700 for its MG for 25 students of PUPLHS. The TRF Matching Grant for School year 2009-2010 was approved by the TRF during the current Rotary year 2008-2009. This request for 50 students is for School Year 2010 to 2011.
