 The Bulindo community is located in the Kira Sub-County about 25 Kms from Kampala City comprising of 13,000-15,000 people who are in dire need of clean water; they walk several miles to get to the source of water which is shared with animals. This is a water harvesting project where the Club hopes to provide plastic water tanks of 2,000 litres to 50 homes selected by the community. Evidence has shown that the plastic tanks last for more than 20 years and only need occasional replacement of gutters at a minimal cost. To ensure community participation, it was agreed with them that each benefiting home would have to provide the gutters and labour for putting up the plinth on which the water tank would sit. |
