People living in the unincorporated areas of Tijuana such as La Presa, lack access to medical care. Hospitals, clinics and government health facilities are saturated and located far from these vommunities and their homes. The abscence of these resources causes people to experience long waits, travel long distances, use poor and expensive transportation and lose working days. All this has resulted in people neglecting their health care and well being.
Fronteras Unidas Pro Salud (Pro Salud), a non government organization certified by Mexico's Ministry of Health, will establish a medical office in the Plaza LAs Fuentes strip mall in the La Presa area. The project's goal is to provide affordable quality health care, services will be provided to young adults, women and men.Especially those that lack government sponsored health care. The clinic will offer prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The goal is to protect, promote and restore the health of its beneficiaries abiding the required standards of Mexico's Ministry of Health.
The clinic will service a community of 200,000 inhabitants. Without the clinic, families and individuals will likely forego medical attention, including preventive treatment as well as the diagnosis of more urgent health needs. |
