Rotary Club of Source of the Nile in Uganda - District 9200 seeks partnership with a Rotary Club that that will mobilize and provide a used but functional fire fighting truck. This project aims at providing a fire fighting truck and community training in basic fire fighting methods in Jinja town and its environs.
The need for a fire fighting truck was identified as a result of the inadequecy in the Police Fire Brigade response to a spate of fire outbreaks in Jinja town and other parts of the country. It is a felt need that a fire fighting truck will supplement the efforts of the Police Fire Brigade in case of such emergency. The estimated budget for associated taxes and freight is USD 25000 which will be required when when the truck has been donated in kind. The additional USD 5000 will be used to facilitate training communities in fire fighting methods. Our Rotary club will be responsible for joint supervision with the local authorities in use of the fire fighting truck and working with the Municipality Police to train the communities in fire fighting. | | |
