Lugala Water Project
$62,000
Lugala Central village local council is located approximately 56 Kms south-west of Kampala, along the Kampala-Masaka Road. The main objective of this project is to contribute to improved livelihoods by: 1) addressing the water and sanitation needs through construction of a borehole, rainwater harvesting and protection of well springs, since residents have to move an average distance of about 1.5 Km to reach the water source, which is not clean; 2) to increase the communities health and environment by preventing diseases; and 3) by increasing awareness in sustainable agriculture (water and soil conservation, provision of irrigation to gardens for fast growing vegetables, and livestock management) |
