 This project has the objective of supply the needs of saving the life of the people that are in a situation of URGENCY or of EMENGENCY at the council of Itapoá, in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil.
With 32 Km of paradise beaches, the council of Itapoá-SC, with only 19 years of existance, is one of the poorest councils of the State of Santa Catarina. Almost everything has to be done. There is neither sanitation nor a hospital.
Since its emancipation, the request of madical care for cases of extremely Emergency and Urgency has been growing whereas the amount of vacationers and inhabitants has increased. With that, the accidents, the urban violence and the insuficient structure of the local medical assistence makes indispensable the existence of an Ambulance of High Suport - Intensive Treatment Unit – ITU-mobile, to care about the Emergent and Urgent cases.
The more complicated health problems are treated in Joinville, a city 100 Km away from Itapoá.
The fixed population of the council is around 13.000 inhabitants. On the weekends, the number grows up to 25.000 people and on the high Summer season, with the coming of vacationers, it grows up to 200.000 inhabitants.
One Ambulance-ITU (Intensive Treatment Unit) will help to save a lot of lifes, ensuring qualified and resolutive attention to the Urgent and Emergent cases.
Despite saving lifes, the conclusion of the Project will give great visibility to the Rotary, seeing that its magnitude will bring efective and potential benefits to all inhabitants |
