 The project is an effort to minimize violence and fanaticism against the Women and lead disadvantaged women toward economic independence with dignity of work by providing them awareness and skills training. The women will acquire marketable skills that will help them in getting employment and or becoming self-employed.
Foundation for Outraged Communities Uplift & Support (FOCUS) is providing vocational training to women at the Vocational Training Centre called Dar-ul-Huner located at Main Circular Road, Outside Delhi Gate, Walled City, Lahore, Pakistan. All the activities of FOCUS are designed for women empowerment and capacity building in line with the convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
The Rotary Club of Lahore Shaheen has adopted the project and decided to provide the required items such as multi-media projector, projection screen, computers, note books, scanner, printers and photocopier etc. It will help FOCUS to upgrade their capacity for providing vocational training to women. The direct beneficiaries include more than 10,000 of adolescents and women aged 14 – 35 years (preferred but not restricted.
