Yag Laser

$24,250

Yag Laser is an essential machine for all Hospitals where Cataract Surgeries are being performed. Patients who have been operated for Cataract under go this Laser treatment. Patients of Glaucoma are treated with this Laser. Patients for Yag Laser treatment are being referred to us from small clinics & Government Hospitals as well.

Around 1,500 to 1,800 Cataract operations and 40,000 patients visit the OPD every year. This project will enable Mian Fazal Rehman Hospital to help the less fortunate of society provide free laser treatment to post Cataract surgery patients & also cater for the needs of Glaucoma patients visiting the Hospital.

There is an urgent need for Yag Laser as all patients are begin referred to private clinics as no facility at Government level is available. The poor community is forced to pay high charges for this procedure, which is around US$30 - 40 for one eye. Mian Fazal Rehman Hospital plans to provide this service free of charge to the less fortunate of society.

With the help of this Matching Grant for Yag Laser, a substantial boost will be given towards the treatment of post Cataract problems & Glaucoma . After this grant, the Hospital will provide the free of charge Laser procedure to the less fortunate of society.
