Clean water availability is a big problem in many cities of Pakistan. Jhang Saddar is a 1.5 million populated city and contains High Salt Contents, more than 1500 ppm in most of the parts of the city, which is dangerous to drink according to WHO standards.
Pure water is necessary for life because clean water saves lives. Clean water project of Rotary Club Jhang Saddar addresses most common reason of water problem the access of salts and microbes, which can be removed. its filteration and radiation (UV). Five water filtration plants with the capacity of 10,000 liters per hour were installed in different parts of the city to provide clean water to the maximum poor community of the city. Another five filtration plants were installed through matching grant.
About 100,000 persons were getting benefit from these ten Clean Water Filtration Plants daily.
After successful operation of above plants, huge demand for clean drinking water arised in different parts of city arose. There was significant visibility of Rotary projects in city. Wide community was requesting Rotarians of Rotary Clubs Jhang to extend this noble cause of supply of clean drinking water. It was estimated that 10 more plants would be required to be installed to meet the needs of deprived community. After installation of 10 more plants, around 100,000 people will get the benefit.
Rotarians of various clubs of Pakistan have visited these plants and were greately inspired to start identical projects in their respective cities.
Water sample has been collected and analysed from different labs of Pakistan and places has been chosen were the filtration plants are needed. The project will be completed with in One Year after the fund arrangements. |
