The project aims to treat about 35 extremely poor patients with Coronary Heart Disease (CAD).
The patients will be treated with aggressive medical teatment instead of any surgical procedures. This kind of treatment has been successfully going on in Calicut for the last ten years and requires hospitalisation for 10 days and periodic counselling and followup with a final evaluation at the end of six month. The cost of treatment per patient is about $500.
which has been on the rise in District 3202 due to dietary and lifestyle changes. These patients now depend on the few government institutions which overburdened and cannot help all patients with CAD. |
